Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the area, generating strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Ice Stones and Widespread Impact
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
